Here’s what I’m looking for: - Detail - Some visitors to soap-making-resource.com are complete beginners. My goal for this site is to provide easy to follow step by step soap making instructions (preferably with pictures) that both the expert and the newbie can follow. Want an example? Click here for a winning tutorial that I created for this easy soap recipe. Explain what you are doing during each stage in the process and why you are doing it; don't just list your ingredients and leave it at that!
- Include pictures - Including a picture with each step is extremely helpful, not just for the new soaper, but for the expert too.
- Clear step by step structure – I’ve found over the years that it’s easiest to learn when step by step instructions are provided. Using this structure is especially important as you create your recipe tutorial!
Below is a simple form that you can use to submit your soap or other skin care recipes. I've made it very long in order to accommodate those with more complicated recipes. Some of you may not need to fill out all the boxes in the form. The layout is very simple... - Name - Fill in your name (first name only is fine), so that I can know who is submitting the recipe.
- Email - Fill in your email address. This field is required so that I can contact you if you win the $300 prize. Your email is 100% safe and will only be seen by my eyes!
- Introduction - Include a simple explanation of what recipe you will be teaching along with the ingredients being used and the amount of each ingredient needed.
- The steps - I've designed this submission form so that you can write out the process one step at a time. There are 25 "step boxes" in all. Some of you will need to use all 25, and some of you will not.
- upload a photo - After you write each step, I give you the option to upload a photo that would go along with that particular step. if you want to win, uploading some helpful photos could be key!
I find it best to write soap recipe tutorials when I am actually making the creation that I'm witting about. All I do is record each step as I do it in a notebook that I have on hand. Then I snap a quick picture with my digital camera and go on to the next step in the process. It's an absolute breeze! Submitting pictures along with your recipe is definitely preferable. If you don't have a digital camera, however, don't worry! Just be sure to write a detailed enough tutorial of the process so that no pictures would even be necessary. Feel free to submit as many soap making recipes as you’d like. After all, the more recipes you submit the better chance you have at contributing the $300 grand prize winner.
